Anyone know how I can repair this dent to my beloved M60? Our house was burglarized. The speakers were too heavy to steal (unlike my tv, Onkyo receiver, and Yamaha hi-res audio player), but in the process of knocking the speaker over, the ruffians kicked this mid-range cone.

I've only been able to listen to it once so far - not sure yet how much it affects performance (frankly, not sure if it does at all after one listen to Neko Case). But I'd love to fix this. Insurance should cover the repairs.

Appreciate any advice. Been awhile since I've been on the forum but my Axioms are holding up beautifully.

That dent won't affect the sound at all, just a dust cover. There are a couple of methods you can try..I've had good luck using a vacuum cleaner attachment on a lower suction setting. Just move slowly towards the dent and often it will pop right back. Or, Axiom has a video using masking tape. I've even used a small strip of duct tape to do the same..

now the dent on the outer portion, not sure, that might affect sound somewhat, you could also check with Axiom, I'm sure they would work with you on a replacement driver...sorry to hear about those darn burglers.

I'd include that driver (or the entire speaker) on the insurance claim myself.

I absolutely despise people who steal, good luck.

That sucks!

Yes, contact Axiom for a replacement driver!

I have three extra mid range drivers sitting here (a VP 150) LOL.

I think I'd go ahead and have insurance replace the entire speaker, thats why you have it.

I would also go to the insurance, but when I contacted Axiom about similar damage to one of M80's mids (no surround damage, but cone and dust cap) and they said as long as it wasn't scraping, it should be fine.
