I watched the storming of the compound in Zero Dark Thirty again because of my impressions of the audio from before. It still sounds amazing.

I need to start compiling a list of demo scenes from my personal collection of Blu-rays for when people come over and want to hear my system at its best. My mind always goes blank when I'm put on the spot. Even when I pick out a specific movie, sometimes it's problematic for me to find which scenes I really liked. Decaying brain.

If you decide to treat your room you will be amazed just how much "stuff" is in a great movie soundtrack. I really like your setup by the way.

The first 20 minutes or so of Master and Commander is my favourite demo to show off what a good surround setup can do. The beginning with the ropes cracking and the boat creaking is just eerie. Then the bell and hen clucking. Then the first battle sequence is bambastic! The poor little boy that gets his arm ampuated is so eerie. The sound in that scene makes me queezy.

Its a so so movie, but I usually seem to watch it through when the first few chapters hook me into it. In Calgary it was the Demo go to at "Sounds of Music" in the AVR room. Worked on me..... laugh

Charles, listening to the new, "Super Critical" by The Ting Tings.

You turned me on to their first effort which is a lot of fun, like a B-52's record. I so didn't like their sophomore effort, that I ditched it. That usually never keeps from giving any artist a spin on effort #3. Bingo! It's blast!

I dare anyone to listen to track #2 at >98 db w/o getting queasy. Thanks again, CV.

Oh, yeah, I'll have to throw Master and Commander in. Today I had my friend, Sara, over, and we watched Fantastic Mr. Fox. Besides being beautiful to look at it, it has a great soundtrack. Oh, I guess that makes her the first person to watch a full movie with me in my new space. She seemed to enjoy it. She sat in the one good seat with the Buttkicker. I pulled my half-picnic table up next to it, and it really wasn't uncomfortable.

Besides that, I had some Bjork: Biophilia Live and Lang Lang: Live in Vienna playing while I did some other stuff.

Hey, I'm glad you like their new one! I still need to listen to it more. I really liked their "Do It Again" music video.

Modern Farmer, another Korean drama, is pretty entertaining. The main woman does such great annoyed faces, and the main guy is a total dork. I'd like to see both of them in more stuff.

Joyce and I watched the BD of Lucy last night. First time I've sat down and watched a BD in many months!

I liked the concept, but I ended up thinking that it could have been fleshed out much more and the ending was pretty anti-climactic.

I told myself I'd like to see it again sometime so I can second-guess my own thoughts.

Yeah, overall the writing could have been stronger, but it had its moments. You really do end up wishing it had been worked on a bit more. It was nice to see Korean actors getting work.

Finally watching season four of Game of Thrones since it came out on disc. There have been some particularly satisfying moments for the sick bastard in me, and what a lot of fun the audio is, like usual.

Just finished watching the series Danger 5 on netflix. Highly recommend. From someone who is a bit of a movie geek, this just has so much to offer in so many ways. Hilarious!
