Can anyone comment on their performance comparisons or differences? I listened to the JM Lab and was quite impressed. They are more expensive and smaller but the sound was quite good.

JM Lab make good speakers for a whole lot of money.

Axiom makes good speakers for a whole lot less money.

Personally, for the money, I'd take the M60's (or M80's). Better sound for less money.

Did you take a look here on the site to see if there are any opportunities for you to audition the M60/M80 speakers near you?

I live in northern Quebec and I doubt if anyone has them here! Wish I could hear them but in most cases, the reviews have been very promising. I want a big tower that has a lot of power and good bass with mid-range and from what I gather, this is the speaker for me. I own a C372 NAD with a CD 521BEE and right now I am using PSB 2B's and a PSB Subzero Subwoofer. They sound pretty good but were only temporary and above all, I could blow them in a second! I actually have more power than I need but that is a good thing in audio as I never have put the volume past 11 o'clock yet without making things rattle! I had a bigger budget than the NAD costs but could not find anything better below $3000! They make good stuff and I was not convinced until I heard them! I think the Axioms will go well with NAD.

Next, I will be ordering the SVS cylindar sub then I will be complete.

I have listened to many models in the JM Lab lineup, and always felt they were very good speakers. I think the budget you have set will determine the proper course for you.

The NAD and PSB models you have are also quality models I have spent time with Paul Barton, and have great respect for his designs and models. You could expand your investment in the PSB line and also not be disappointed.

There are many products to be considered, especially if your budget is generous. $3K allows you to shop for high quality, and NAD would be overwhelmed by models from Vecteur, Linn,YBA and SimAudio ( QC based companies I believe)

I think you are on the right track, and will not be disaapointed with your choice of either speaker.

No doubt PSB is a great company but they are more expensive. I did listen to the Image 6T and was blown away with the bass but it lacked definition and mid-range. I think the Axioms will be a better speaker.

As I said, the NAD I chose was auditioned with many amps costing 3 times more and there was no difference or the NAD was better. Some as you say are better but way beyond my needs and budget.
JM Lab is good but they seem to be a much better classical speaker than they are an all arounder! Some music they don't like.
As I said, I have never heard the Axioms but the 30 day return policy is good enough for me to at least try them.

danman, I don't know where you live, but the first post in the last forum here on the board is a clearinghouse of sorts for folks offering to provide auditions for Axioms. If nothing is there, an email to Amie could turn something up for you.

Just curious, what amps did you listen to?
