My wife did not drive cars very much in her home country. When she came to the USA, she was a nanny but did not do any of the driving. After we got married she wanted a new car but I said no. Used car. I told her she needed some experience.

I bought her a 2001 Corolla and she loved it. It ran great and was clean as a whistle. She loved it until her friends at the restaurant she worked at made fun of her. "Does it have A/C? Does it have a cassette player?" They all drove new cars.

I was hurt because I loved her 2001. It is a great car. I tried to explain the value of a good running car. But to no avail.

My wife is in Thailand right now but when she comes home there will be a brand new 2012 Corolla sitting in the driveway waiting for her.

It was a good feeling being able to do it.

I would want to bust some skulls..... I wonder if those people could "Afford" their new cars?...

Anyhow, that's really cool that you are in a position to be able to do that for her.

Did she have input into the color and interior? You are a brave man.

I know she wanted white. So I got her that. I don't know for sure, but I think coming to America and owning a new car was a dream of hers. I was talking to her on the phone yesterday and I could hear her mom's chickens in the background. I think she lives in a very rural area.
If you guys could have been with us last summer, we went to NYC specifically to see the Statue of Liberty. Her reaction there was incredible. I didn't think there were still people all over the world still dreaming to come here.
Anyway, thanks for all the support. I think she will be really excited.

Wow. You should get one of those gigantic bows to put on it.

Bob,
if you are home Wednesday afternoon I could use a ride to Copeland Toyata. If not, no worries. Sorry I did not bring you for the negotiations.
