I posted a review of a new system in the technical section. This is a follow up. FYI the speakers got some air time on the HGTV episode which is nice. Anyway,

The more I listen to the VP180 (in cabinet) the more impressed I am. There is now no doubt I have been listening to inferrior speaker. As an example, when switching over to a "music" station on dishnetwork I would normally have to switch it over from the current dolby music dsp or whatever it was on to some stereo, party mode, etc. since too much music came from the center and not enough from the rest which resulted in a mono like sound. Now I am actually able to listen to music in this manner without switching. It is not my prefered dsp for music but it is actually enjoyable. The only way I can describe it is like the center channel itself is almost a stereo speaker.

Also, in general I am totally impressed with just about everything with the VP180. I am now able to replicate dialogue which more resembles an actual movie theater.

After outfitting an entire new system (with a 22,150,175 coming soon) I am currently most impressed with the VP180. I'm not much of a home theatre person, more music for me, but I appreciate what this speaker has done for movies and regular tv watching.

Bottom line, if you have the budget and the space then it is definately worth a listen. Bravo.

More to come on my thoughts on the m80, ep500 and qs8's.

I never though sound was an important component of movies until I got my Axiom system. A good center, surrounds and sub ad sooo much to the movie experience.

With the rave reviews the VP180 get, sooner or later I'll break down and buy one.

C'Mon, Fred. Just do it now.

Was that enough peer pressure?

It's tempting. "Sorry 'dear' I spent the support on a new speaker. Talk to me next month." Hmm...

I pay for my Axiom speakers by buying things at garage sales and then selling them on Ebay. It works.

I wish I enjoyed bartering. I tend to avoid buying if I have to haggle as I suck at it and I simply advertise anything I sell as my lowest desired price and insist on the Non Neg. part. It's amazing how many people rudely keep pestering you for a better price even when you make it clear that the price is the price.

It's not that I'm too passive, I just don't have the patience to play the game. I envy those who are good at it though.

Murph, I like your new sig. The Brigadier was one of my favorite characters on Dr. Who!

Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.

Oh, that's awesome. I hadn't noticed that.

The Brigadier was fantastic.

I am the Doctor, and THIS... is my SPOON!

Thanks. Although I like to mix it up, I think 'Doctor Who' could potentially provide an entire lifetime of entertaining signatures.

I don't like haggling either. I barely do it at all. Sometimes I ask if someone will accept something a little lower, but I rarely need to. When I sell on Ebay I don't do auction style. I hate that. I just do Buy it now. I've made $1,000's in profit.
