currently my EP500 is part of a built in entertainment center- which affects the visceral feel of the sub, I'd like to either liberate it and use a smaller one in it's place, or add another EP500 somewhere in the back of the room. Right now I have too many little fingers that would tear it up if it was out in the open. In a perfect world I'd have an EP600 on either side of my plasma (see my sig for photos)...

Did you do the cabinets yourself? They look Really nice.

I would like to get a setup like yours, with the plasma, and the drop down screen best of both worlds... You can not worry about the bulb and enjoy the plasma as much as you want.

Dual 600's are freaking awesome btw... I think that is what you need to go with... oh, and it makes CNN kick ass too...

I am really liking the 2 additional channels too. With two rows of seating, it was important to make the surround field nice and enveloping around that larger space. Congrats.

I am hoping to add another .1 yet this summer. It will be a DIY sub with similar specs to my existing SVS sub. I already have the amp, driver, port, foam liner, and two locations wired depending on my preference. I pretty much just need the wood and time to put it together. It will be a great project and while the SVS sure packs a punch when need be, I am looking forward to even smoother bass throughout the room.

Again, congrats!!!!

Awesome! I'm not sure if I would benefit from 2 more surrounds in my setup but I hope to add another sub someday..

Once I settle in my new place I'll be getting another pair of QS8s also.

A second sub would surely be beneficial in enhancing your listening experience in that space.

Watch the remake of 3:10 to Yuma. There's a scene when Russell Crowe's gang is robbing a stage coach. Someone fires a gun into the armoured coach. You hear the gunshot in one of the main speakers, then the travels past your head, ricochets off a back wall in one of the rear speakers, then impacts on the opposite side wall. It's a nice introductions of what a set of rears can add.

Yea. My first thought is to liberate the EP500 from the cabinets (vive le bass!) and find a home for it in the back. I may replace it with a sub that has trim level options for being placed in a cabinet (EP500's used to have trim adjustments, but I got the first model that doesn't apparently). During the construction phase of my home theater, the EP500 was out in the open and had more than enough punch/kick/explosion whatever you wanted to call it. It's still impressive where it is, but I know it can be better. Problem is, I can barely keep little hands off the driver where it is now, if it were behind the couch and out of direct site it wouldn't survive long without a metal grill. So I may add a second wireless down firing sub somewhere in the room to accent what I lost. I can still shake the house with the low end of the EP500, but it lost some off it's midrange 'musicality' and punch in the cabinet.

I've seen some subs that come with a calibration microphone (similar to the AVR calibrations. You sample various sitting positions, and I'm guessing the sub just ups the EQ for problem frequencies) that look like they may do better in a cabinet than the EP500... but that's a whole 'nother thread- probably in a different forum since they aren't axiom subs. Dont get me wrong, I very much like my EP500, it just needs to breathe more. Look at me, I just hijacked my own thread.
