There's a very nice review of the M60, M22 and QS8 at Secrets Of Home Theater And Hi-Fi

yeah i thought it was "so so" its kinda another one of those reviews that too vague to draw any real strong points out of. Since he had the M60 and 6t i would have liked to hear more about that then, the bass was better on the 6t's.

I dont like reviews that go on and on about microdynamics or decay or something, but i dont like ones that dont really say much of anything. heck he had 5 m60. he should have hooked em all up and just played some music as loud as possible and then see how many miles away he has to be to not hear it! lol. im guessing axiom paid to ship them to and back from the guy. *gulp*

I thought the review was pretty good, but I'm still jonesing for reviews of M3s, M40s, and M50s. Either that or a smaller tower with the M2/M22/M60/M80 sound.

This was a very helpful review on the quadpole vs. direct radiating issue. That's a hard one to test out, making it all the more appreciated. It's true he didn't rave on about the five-identical-mains setup, but he outright says his personal preference was for the quadpole rear configuration for movies AND music, so you have to suspect that's why he didn't give the five-main set up the fullest workout, at least in prose.

Meanwhile, the review has inspired me to figure out how I can set up a lone M60 as my center to match my M60 mains.

Relative to the reviewer's comments, I was wondering about the M60 as a front myself birdman. The only way I could conceive to do it was t lay rhe M60 on it's side a la the suggestions we see once in a while about the m2. Based on it's shape, it would angle up or down depending on floor or shelf placement. The question is - why would you want to?

I would imagine that a sideways M60 would suffer quite a bit in terms of imaging. A while back, some poor guy posted about using horizontal M80s. I don't think he's been back after what we did to that idea...

I saw a Saturn commercial on TV a few weeks ago where they showed all of the Saturn owners driving to a big party type thing at the Saturn plant. Hundreds of Saturns driving down some back country road in Kentucky.

It made me wonder if there was ever such an event for a speaker company. I can just see it now. thousands of pairs of Axioms set up outdoors, all playing the same source.

Hmmmm.. What's the world record for highest outdoor SPL measured at 1/2 mile?

M- M60s/VP150/QS8s/SVS PC-Ultra/HK630 Sit down. Shut up. Listen.
