Now that was a really poorly written review! I've really liked the reviews I've read on Secrets of Home Theater, but Kris Dearing came across as something of a novice. The review was shallow and narrow. All in all I guess he said he likes the Axioms but not as much as his PSBs. He also kept repeating himself. Love his choice of music he used to evaluate the Axioms - 9 inch Nails?

Well, some of us do listen to NIN.... And if speakers don't sound good with what you listen to, what good are they? Besides, generally, NIN is pretty well mastered.

I agree Kcarlile, just commenting that the reviewer's choice of music to test his great Axiom setup was a bit narrow. If I were going to put my name on a review of speakers I would have used a range of music - jazz, female vocal, male vocal, classical and rock.

I also think it's almost useless to publish a review without disclosing what components were used to drive the speakers.

I love NIN, and I have listened to Trent on my axioms. He sounds good, but I think he doesn't really bring out their qualities like a lot of other things could. I have to say I've been rather impressed with Radiohead and Depeche Mode the last few days when they made it into my rotation. I'm working my way back through a pretty large body of music and learning for the first time what sounds good at extreme volumes and what sounds like death...

Yeah, I wish there was more of a comparison between the Axiom's and the PSB's. But maybe he realized he spent way too much on the PSB's and the Axioms sounded the same or better and he was pissed.

He aslo mentioned Staind. I have the DVD-Audio of their newest album 14 shades of grey, it does not sound very good, ok, but not great.

I would never put it in to show off my Axioms, although I still enjoy listening to the disc on occasion.

Kris Deering is a frequent poster on the Spot (Our favorite), but I do not know if he frequents here.

He also is on the AVS Forum frequently, but I've never seen him here.
