I agree that the VP 100 is a very good speaker, and it doesn't get its props around here. I have one, and though I constantly have to fight upgradeitis because of the uniformly glowing reports of VP 150's around here, I never really hear any deficiencies in my VP 100. Of course, I always sit right in the sweet spot.

The wife really likes the VP100. She actually looked at me and said "you should get the QS4s next." I was dumbfounded. She must like the Axiom sound a lot.

I'd press the advantage, buy the QS8s and say - "I'm sorry, I clearly heard you say 8, not 4." Any guff and go back to my original plan - Sell her.

Mark's VP100 sounded excellent. Seamless transition - not localizable at all and played crystal clear at high volumes - especially the Fight Club airplane scene...

I know my Axioms are attractive looking speakers, but there not that good looking, and there is no way the 8s are that much better than the 4s.LOL

On a more serious note, with the new tweeters in the QS4s, you shouldn't be giving up much in relation to the 8s. Once you do the calibration, the 4s will simply end up playing a bit louder than they might otherwise do. Enjoy them.
