I'm trying to figure out what sound differences there are between the M2 and the M22s. I know that they have the same cone size but there's an extra cone for the M22s. Does this just make the M22s louder or does the quality of the sound improve? I trying to decide which ones to go with for fronts in a small home theatre setup.

How small are you talking? What's your room size?

The room is 10 x 14 with 8 foot ceilings. I have laminate wood floors. Couch is against the back wall and sitting distance to tv is about 7 to 8 feet. I want to just use a 5.1 speaker setup and compact speakers are required due to the small size of the living room.

I think both the M2i and M22ti would work very well in that situation. The M22ti may give you a little more midrange clarity and be able to play louder, but both will sound very, very good. You'll of course want a good sub. A room that size would be well suited for the Hsu STF-2.

Good luck.

I have a room roughly the same size, and I went with the M2s and VP100 and a HSU STF2, no surrounds yet. It sounds really great and I personally dont need anything more for the size. I listened around and found ony one other speaker that I liked more, but it was $500. The Axioms are just great
