ANyone have any experience with the Factory Outlet Seconds? Trying to stay within a budget and looks like I can save a few hundred bucks. What kind of blemishes can I expect and would they be noticeable?

Not noticeable at all. In my case all I found was a few tiny spots of discolouration (think dark, dark grey on black) on a couple of my speakers.

I would not worry.

Yeah, by and large, you'll look very hard to find anything at all!

Usually the blemishes are very minor, in most cases very hard to find as Fred stated.

I didn't but from factory outlet but I did buy from Axiom auction (B stock). The VP150 I received had a small dent in a corner, probably got bumped into something. It really is not noticeable. I have not seen any blemish on the M80s although I assume something must be there somewhere. Aside from that, speakers are perfect. I wouldn't hesitate buying from factory outlet, I probably will in the near future.

On Axiom's (B stock), I've called in the past to inquire in general, about the nature of the defects. Their response was most of the time it was either visible excess glue, or very minor scratches on the drivers. This I could certainly live with for the additional savings, and is what I will be receiving on completion of my order.

There are tiny blemishes of maybe 1 or 2 millimetres in size on each of my B stock M22s. They just are little smears more so than discoloration. And on my B stock QS8s I gave up looking for the flaws after about 5 minutes.

They sound fantastic. Love 'em every day.

All of my speakers have come from the factory outlet (m80's, vp160, vp180, ep500, QS8). My ep500 had a small scratch on the back above the amp plate and there was a slight blemish on the corner of my vp180. No other problems were ever noticed.

I just bought M22 and I had a hard time finding the blemish, come to find out it was the excess glue, which really wasn't that excessive.
Probably would of still bought them as A stock had I not known

It becomes a bit of a game. I spent six months occasionally wondering where the blemishes were. I'd randomly get up and do a close up inspection of a couple of speakers (yeah, I know, I need a life).

It took me 6 months to find the one blemish. Wouldn't you know it, I forgot to write down where it is, so it will take forever if I need to find it again... grin

They are pretty picky about the quality of the speakers that leave the Axiom floor or those that get relegated to the Factory Outlet.

Here are some pics of my own Axioms from a few years back (a few?, geez, like almost 10 years now?) of the only flaws i could spot.

Blemishes are often minor and certainly at a distance of a few feet, very hard to spot if at all.
I was pleasantly surprised.
Mind you, i have heard of reports of people getting more obvious flaws like a seriously dinged dust cap (which no longer exists on the new drivers).

I have purchased a few speakers from the old outlet and some were perfect as far as I could tell and few had some minor issues, the worst of which was some missing vinyl wood grain in one spot on the side of the speaker, it was a pretty small spot too, about an 1/8th of inch in diameter.

The M22s I bought as B-stock many years ago looked flawless to me when I first got them. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the inner portion of vortex port on one of them was glued slightly askew. (There are two parts and the ridges on one didn't line up exactly with the ridges on the other.) It's basically an invisible blemish.

My speakers arrive today. M22, VP150 and QS8 B-Stock. A few blems here and there, nothing major.

However one of my QS8 (lower driver) looks like is has some glue on it. Minor but not sure if it has any effect. And the Axiom label on it has one of the posts broken. Going to see if Axiom will send me out another I can replace it with. Problem is the pin that holds the one side is burried in the cabinet, not sure if I can just push it thru but it will drop that little piece of plastic into the speaker housing.
