Stop the madness!

I actually do not like pumpkin beers. Seriously. Don't like most coffee beers, either, but I do like most chocolate stouts.

I still do like alcopops and sweet mixed drinks, but my #1 beer is still Guinness.

I have to try and keep you all on your toes/keep you guessing, I guess.

Hmm, perhaps this question should be over in Mark's thread of ungooglable questions.

For those in the mood for a hearty holiday beer, I highly recommend Goose Island Christmas Ale. Plummy and figgy with a deep malt base and touch of hops on the finish. 7.3% ABV

I need to go holiday beer shopping. smile

Tomorrow evening the homebrew club at work is having our first open brew night. We designed a porter-like beer and are inviting people who want to see how beer is made to come watch us. We're doing a partial mash style to keep it compatible with a typical indoor kitchen.

We'll be doing a porter tasting while we brew. Really looking forward to it. smile

Had a Deschutes Jubel Ale on draft during lunch today. Yes, oh yes.

Had the Wee Heavy from Pelican Brewing over Thanksgiving. It was almost too boozy and too rich.

Enjoyed a couple beers from Gigantic Brewing in Portland recently. Highly recommended, but you'll probably never see them unless you're in WA/OR.

Bought tickets to the Big Beer Festival in Tacoma on February 16. You are all jealous.

I was jealous... until I realized I could just throw a bunch of cases of beer in the back of my truck and a lawn chair or two and have my own "Big Beer Festival in Tacoma."

OK. More like "In a Tacoma" but it will make me feel better.

That's funny. And just for the record - I am jealous of you both living on the coast(s)!

Speaking of holiday beer shopping - going to pick up some holiday beers soon to give a unique bottle to each of my team members for the holidays - might go for that porter I mentioned several posts ago in this thread.

I was out buying the brews for the boys for Christmas to give them at our office Christmas party this coming week when I saw this beer , a double chocolate cranberry stout. I picked one up to try. Thinking I might enjoy it tonight after the kids are asleep.

I got a package at work today from a friend who lives in Seattle. Here's what was hiding inside:

I just finished it. It was absolutely wonderful, and I have an amazing buzz that's slowly fading. I feel like I drank a bottle of chocolate wine. laugh
