I haven't seen any of these, and there's 5 that I didn't know anything about.
Of these, I want to buy Lincoln, Life of Pi in 3D, and Django Unchained.

You know how sometimes you can't bring yourself to watch a movie if you've read the book because you're worried you'll be disappointed? I'm fighting that feeling with Les Mis. Maybe I was young and impressionable but I remember being moved to tears in the theater when I saw it on stage. . . I'm worried the Hollywood version will lack that soul-tearing moment when Valjean sings "Bring Him Home". (I honestly just broke out in goosebumps thinking about it just now.) Did anyone see it?

I haven't seen it but i saw a documentary on the making of it. I was quite impressed by that. The singing and such was all done in real time voice and no in-booth re-dubs or anything like that. It was as if they were just filming a stage production but kept moving and changing the background setting to real locations instead of moving props on stage. I'm not a musical fan but this has caught my interest.

It is openly discussed elsewhere that the nominations are more of a popularity contest anymore and not a sign of an actual good film. Not saying that they aren't possibly decent movies, but I don't care for many (if any) of the "awards" ceremonies any more.

All the more reason to get involved in optimistic discussion here then about movies you enjoyed.
