No, not for me, but you never know, I guess.
Got the latest issue of Car and Driver in the mail a couple of days ago, and it has the next generation Corvette on the cover. I thought of it just now when I saw michael.d posting in another thread. Mike, being a Corvette guy, any thoughts on what they've done at Chevrolet?
I think they ought to rename the Ten Best list the Eight Best Plus the Honda Accord and BMW 3 Series. Porsche Boxster is a virtual lock as well. Not much motion on the list in the last few years. Good stuff stays good, I guess, and the staffers' preferences/biases stay the same as well.

Maybe they'll take a Corvette body and put it on a Volt chassis. Electric Vette. Think it'd sell?

I downloaded the free prototype for Gran Turismo 5 and have driven it around some tracks. Unfortunately it is still literally under wraps in the game! See here. Sounds like a Corvette to me though.

From what I understand, the pictures are renditions, and not the actual car. The general consenses from the vette guys is that they are very close to what the car will look like. Until I see actual pics, specifications and drive one, I'm reserving my judgement. I have way too much work and money in my C6 Z06 to even consider moving to the C7. Plus, I'm quite fond of it and will never have the skills to push it as hard as it can be pushed. So, there's little reason to buy a new one. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-gener...n-cover-24.html

I'm sticking with my old C5, I hope they drop the Camaro type tailights on the new C7, it just doesn't look right. I think Jan. 13 2013 is the actual release date.

Hey, thanks for the link. I'm checking out the Autoweek walk-around now. The redesign is really more radical and bold than I thought. That's a good thing, I think.

Follow-up: Is your avatar a picture of your car? Oooh, shiny. I love a great paint/wax job like that.

Ya, it is. Crappy pic, but I'm too lazy to find another, crop it to fit this forum's funky avatar size....
I've decided that I just don't like the ass end of the new C7. It looks odd to me. I also don't like the departure from the round tail lights. It looks like a damn camaro.

I'm with you. The tail end is the weak part of the design. The rest of the angular and flat surfaces work for me, for the most part. And because the rest of it is angular, I see why they flattened out the tail, removing the curves, but they just didn't do it right. It makes me think of the Pontiac Aztek and the perils of design by committee, as well as the dubious value of focus groups.
