My amps are the same, with the addition of a second larger 2 channel amp. However, the larger 2 channel amp has pretty much the same design. Exact same gain as the smaller amps... The "sound" is pretty much the same as my M60's, with a much wider field, and more dispersed sound field. This is mainly due to the design of the rear firing speakers and my room configuration.

More enveloping would be the best way to describe it.

Yes, the M80s are no slouch. As I have a pair as well as the 1100s. Good choice!

The M80s to me seemed that I wanted them louder and louder, they can play so clean. The LFRs sound to me just what I want to hear. I actually can't hear where the sound is coming from on a good CD with the QSs and the DSP box with the VP160.

I do have Outlaw mono's running the front soundstage, but am saving for an Axiom 1500 5 channel amp. Then that's it....

As good a description as I can come up with. It's not easy to describe the sound of the LFR's!

So you have one amp for your centre, surrounds, and the rear channels of the LFR, and another for the LFR fronts? What are their output ratings? I was thinking of doing something like this myself but wasn't sure how well it would work.

This is a question for all LFR owners...
Do you toe them in and if so can you notice the difference in the reflected sound coming from the back or side walls?
I'd assume that many would have these installed well off their rear walls and that they would be a bit more forgiving of less than ideal installations while promising near perfection for those who take the time to find it.
My new listening room/HT's drawn up but your answers may help with the final dimensions.
Its a year away at best but my current plans are for a 8 x 19 x 28 dedicated room with LFR's 8' off the back (back of speaker) spaced 12' apart.
I'm interested in hearing thoughts from all of you.

Cohesion, not exactly..

1 amp (1,200 watts @ 2ohm/per channel) for front speakers on the LFR's
1 amp (500 watt @4 ohm/per channel) for rear speakers on the LFR's
1 amp (500 watt @4 ohm/per channel) for center + 2 surrounds.

So, 2 stereo amps, and 1 three channel amp.

brwsaw read the below pdf. Start on page 15.

http://wilsonaudio.com/pdf/manual_soph3.pdf

my LFR's are 14 inches away from the wall, and about 13 feet apart.. they are towed in about 5-8 degrees, don't know the exact angle...
