Patriques Basement HT

Finally got around to taking some half decent pictures. Room was done last summer, it's about 12 feet by 25 feet big. I have the Epic Grand Master 500 701 running with the following:
-Onkyo TX-NR717
-PS3 for BluRay
-XBox 360 for games and HD=DVD
-Alienware X51 HTPC for XBMC and games.
-WiiU for games (I guess you can tell I'm a heavy gamer)
-BEV HDPVR
-Samsung 67" RPTV (1080p) for regular viewing
-Epson 5010 3D Projector on 100" Electric screen )that comes down right in front of Samsung TV) for Movies or when we want the extra big screen.

All electronics except the TV and speakers are on shelving at the rear of the room, along with our regular DVD collection that runs close to 1200. We really stopped buying in recent years, and only get about 3-4 BluRays a month now.

Shelves next to TV keep some of our collectibles and rather than movie posters we decided to get framed Emroca prints (http://www.emroca.com/) with Mario themes.

Hope you like the pics.

Looks good.

How do you find the surrounds? Are you running dual side surrounds or did you try an unusual placement for the rears on a 7.1 system?

I chose an unusual placement for the rears. Because I have shelves on the back I desided to put them at about a 40-45 degree angle from the listening position (though it's hard to tell that from the pics). Find it works quite well.

I wish I had a dedicated 12x25 space for home theater... maybe someday.

In the meantime I will just get ideas from everyone on here. Nice looking room!

Great room! Curious as to how much time you spend watching the projector vs the television? I like the option of having both.

Me too. I am considering this myself.

It's quite a large TV being 67 inches and we probably watch around 75% on it and 25% on the projector. Even though it's a dedicated HT, it is our primary "content" TV. The room probably gets about 3 hours usage per day between PC, Satellite and other sources. We have a small 32" in our living room, but that's really not used as much.

It was one of our better ideas doing it this way smile
