Itunes? Amazon? CD? Something else?

I'm looking for the best recordings. The more I listen (with good speakers), I find little things that either don't sound right or aren't even part of the song due to interference. Like when I use airplay. If you listen close, sometimes it isn't as good...sometimes.

My cable has music channels. They're "ok."

I also find I like listening to music in stereo, 2 channel, more than 5.1. I don't want all the music in the center. Hope that makes sense.

I like a good multi-channel mix on SACD. Not all are good though. SACD or regular CD can be fine but it depends on the recording and mastering. Older recordings tend to have too much tape hiss for my liking. Some new concert recordings on BD are quite good.

What genre of music do you like?

I like different kinds. I don't like any of all kinds. What I've found is that when I get speakers I like, I start to like music I never did before, just because it doesn't sound harsh.

Don't really like a lot of Country though, and I'm from the South .

I like some rock, electronic, pop, classical, just depends. I think I like movie soundtracks the best. I do miss some bass with the M22ti but that is to be expected.

As the previous reply indicated, the recording, mixing and mastering on each item is what really determines the end result. The CD, when done with proper care, has all the quality(2-channel)needed for human ears and available music material.

My own listening is almost entirely to classical CDs, played in surround by using DPLII, etc., mode.

The higher the bit rate the closer to the actual live performance of the recording you are going to be, whether that is a good recording or bad was up to the sound engineer/producer etc.

I am always on the look out for Re-mastered older cds I know are poorly recordly in the hopes the remastering corrected some of the issues.

Vinyl..... of course.

Sounds like you are listening to lossy formats..... CD or better is a good rule. CD is perfectly fine if your setup is good. ie. speakers properly setup, tweeters at ear level etc.

If you gotta go digital, at least go FLAC.
