I'm sure they'll be too polite to mention it---the table, the shame, or the awesomeness.

If you just keep mentioning the part about the awesomeness, no one will even notice the damn table!

What with you holding court AND enough liquor, I'm sure everyone will remember it as awesome. And see, I've already stopped mentioning the table.

Way too long to go between posts in this thread.
For anyone close to a Happy Harry's store, i highly recommend you check out their penny sale event.

Buy one bottle, get the second for a penny, and we're not just talking about the cheap plonk.
$20+ bottles in Canada for $12 or less USD

Need to post some meals with wines as well.

These wine and food pairings were taken right out of the Cellar Door Issue #20, meals 1 and 2 (i'm working on having #3).

Chef got a little sloppy with the gravy on meal #1.

#2 looks good. Chicken with shrooms and goat cheese over pasta? Looks tasty. What spices were used?

Careful Fred.
The wife takes her cooking commentary pretty seriously!

The recipes are in the Cellar Door mag as linked. We followed them pretty closely.
The third recipe was apparently the big winner in that recipe set when is spoke with the folks at B&J who participated. Since the store is right up the street, and i took a course (ISG) through them, i'm in fairly regularly.
They really know their stuff.

I gots a new toy. grin

But ...

... its empty cry

Storing wine in the hall closet is fine all winter, but it gets rather warm in the summer. I sometimes find myself holding back on a wine I really like because I don't know how long it will hold.

First world problem solved. smile

Edit: that screaming red wine on the top shelf is cranberry. My daughter loves it, but I find it too tart/acidic for strait up drinking. It does, however, apparently make a very good mulled wine. I'll let you know Sunday.
