I'm toying with getting some M3's for the kids to replace their All in One rubbish iPhone docks but I'm stumped on who offers an small and reasonably priced amp designed for an iPhone. I like the look of this Headphone Amp as an example (but it will not drive M3's of course). http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/809824-REG/Fiio_E9I_E9i_Desktop_Headphone_Amplifier.html
I'm not the iPhone type so any suggestions would be great. Thanks Nathan

...the other option is to wait for the yet to be released powered Airplay/DLNA speakers.....

This Airport Express thingie might be what your looking for. It's worth a look anyway.
http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/ I would think with this you could just connect it to any receiver.

Thanks but it is not an amp. I could use receivers (and many have iSuff docks) but it is kinda big for a couple of bookshelf speakers.

Check out B&W Airplay systems. Have heard in person and they are pretty solid for the price. Available through apple stores I believe. Models A5 and A7 are fantastic.
Probably find them cheaper locally in Aus. |

Have a look at these:
1. http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/speakers/products/airmotiv4 OR 2. http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/amplifiers/products/a100

I drive M3's in my small home office, with all audio sent from my Mac, with this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005F5U86G/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's perfect for me. Tiny, silent, cool, nice looking and, so far, flawless. Quite limited in power, of course, but more than adequate for my needs and maybe for yours, too. I use the audio out port of my Mac Pro, but of course for wireless use you could just add an Airport Express. |
