Hi Guys,

I have VP100, and I used to own the M22ti's. I bought another pair today second hand, however something isn't right with them. I know one of the woofers appears to be blown, but more concerning is that neither sound proper. They almost sound out of phase or something. They're much quieter than the VP100 and just lack power or something. I have to turn the amp way up to get much of anything out of them. All the other speakers in each have sound coming out. I know from having them before, and the sound of my current VP100, something is really not right. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas. I obviously need to call Axiom also and see what a woofer costs, but that's not the whole problem.

Thanks in advance.

Dave, besides the probably blown driver, the low sound level you describe could possibly result from one of the speakers being connected with polarity reversed with respect to the other speaker. You'd check by simply reversing the wire connections at one speaker.

If that doesn't solve at least part of the problem, it would seem that they should be returned, unless you bought at a very low price "as is".

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply, I fairly sure the polarity is correct, but I will double check. They certainly lack detail, and when my existing Infinity mains sound substantially better, I know there is a problem, as I know what these typically sound like.

I paid $65 for the pair, which is very cheap, but useless if they aren't working.

Dave:

I have the M22v3s & VP100v3 in my HT & they work just fine.

The M22ti models are quite old now. Sounds like yours were over-driven or otherwise misused in their former life...
