I've posted many times that I have been considering a 3rd M80 for use as my center channel speaker.
I'm sum what torn between smaller speakers and achieving the trio I've been stewing over since last Christmas.
The room will be a dedicated screen room and that's why I'm now considering smaller speakers. I won't be partying in a blacked out room (at least not with others).
What would you do?
As a point of reference we already sit 15+ feet from the screen and will continue to once the AT screen and PJ is setup.

You know you want the M80.

I had a VP150 and went to a VP180 to compliment my M80s. I find the 180 sounds much fuller than the 150 and is a better match to the M80s.

My only complaint is the size, I had to get a different stand to accommodate the large 180.

I am quite pleased with the 180.

Okay, I was being glib because you've been "stewing over" this for a year. Seriously, you should get what you WANT.

AND... I'm pretty committed to a vertical center channel now (after going from a VP100 to an M2). In consideration of my own eventual transformation (someday...) to an AT screen and dedicated room, I've pretty much decided that 3 M22's across the front is an "easy" fit and would provide everything I need for movies (when supplemented by adequate subwoofage, of course). Also entertained the possibility of 3 in-cabinet M60's.

BUT... Larger speakers than that seem very difficult to appropriately place behind a screen due to their height. I don't see the point of putting very large speakers behind an AT screen if the dispersion of any of their drivers is going to be compromised by the screen frame.

But, you know, you may be contemplating a screen that is tall enough for it not to matter. Or maybe it really DOESN'T matter (much) if the woofer area of the M80 has a horizontal screen frame running through it.

"Seriously, you should get what you WANT."

This brings up another consideration.
I want 3 new M80's with the new specs (no PP but cast baskets again).

It's killing me...
I don't need them...aghhh

My screen considerations are to make a wall of AT fabric (it comes in 8' heights), confirm the perfect screen size for the viewing distance (my own preference not those stated online)and mask as required.
I have even considered raising and angling them to be completely unobstructed.

I feel the need to add I am really hoping to move into or build a larger dedicated room approximately 4x the volume of this space in the near future.
It does help justify the overkill now.
I'm hoping for more, I don't get sarcasm when people are in front of me so please feel free to elaborate.
The only thing certain at this time is I am starting with a less than ideal room and I want the best SQ and PQ I can get with funds available.

No offense intended; I really didn't know you could get AT fabric that wide. Seems like thats the magic part of the whole equation. Sorry for the misunderstanding..
