 Is my tweeter dying?

Hi, so one of the tweeters on my M60 (v2) speakers has been making an occasional 'crackling' noise. I've taken the tweeter out to check wiring and made sure all connections were good but it's still sometimes crackling. Is my tweeter dying or is there something else i could try out to see if i can fix the issue?
What does this button do?

Try switching your two M60s to make sure the sound stays with that speaker and that it's not in your electronics chain!

Good advice (for once) Mark!  Also check to see that you can replicate the problem using various sources and various material (i.e. different songs/movies from CD, DVD, streaming, etc.).
