High powered--there's a button for it right under the price tag on the product page.

Thanks. Found it now. Not too obvious unless you look for it.

The Vp180 HP just in and the difference is pretty obvious, sounds much more linear and seems to be a much better match to the HP line like the M100'S.

I thought the hp drivers just allowed more power for increased volume levels. Is there an actual difference in sound?

A/B them and yes there is a tad difference.. more linear, able to handle power more effortless, anyone who has the HP drivers in the mains should consider the HP centers, is it going to change your sound scheme drastically?, no but every little bit counts!!!

Back last year, I traded in my VP160 for a VP180 essentially for aesthetics because I already had the M80s in the custom piano black and wanted the VP180 in the same finish. The trade-in value was essentially the same as what I paid so with the customize option sale that was going on at the time , I went ahead with the purchase.

Although, I couldn't make a direct comparison between the two, I would say that they are more similar than different even though the tweeter/mid-range configuration is different between the two which, in the case of the VP160, in my opinion, gives it a slight edge in "off axis" linear performance over the 180.

Either way, they are both large full-range models that would fit pretty much any speaker configuration and you couldn't go wrong with either of them.
