Here's another internet direct company that has a magnificent performance/value reputation. I'm probably going to get the following for the 30 day trial:

http://www.decware.com/zpage1.htm

Has anyone else tried the Decware amps with M80s (or any Axiom for that matter)?

I don't think I'm *too* worried that this wouldn't be a great match. I am interested in knowing if the bass characteristics would change much. Judging from my solid state amp's power meters, I usually drive the M80s with less than half a watt! The M80 efficiency is impressive; my other speakers are Magnepan and they are only 86db efficient, if that.

Hi,

I wouldn't worry much at all about matching speakers with an amp. Axiom speakers are so efficient that you can't really tell the difference unless you're playing the speakers at REALLY high levels. Try getting your friends' amps and plug the M80's into them, and see if you can hear a difference. I think the biggest difference maker is the source material, after that, differences are barely audible unless you are using really terrible electronics.
