Murph/newf: I think I am going to wait for the EP 175 and test it out in my room. The website said the EP175 is optimal for my room size so I'll give it a shot. The EP350 or SVS PB-2000 is out of my budget right now but that's why the trade up option with Axiom is the greatest thing ever since the internet. Still havent't received a shipping notice, boy its hard waiting:)

side note: I appreciate the M3v4's even more now that I don't have a sub, the amount of bass they put out is awesome for their size and the room they are in. I found myself yesterday just listening to music and being amazed at how tight and low they go without getting the slightest muddiness.

I've tried all 3, EP175, EP350, EP500 in a similarly sized room.

175 not enough power for my tastes. Depends on your volume. I play mine in the too loud category most of the time. Could be fine for toned down volume though.

350 worked fine for me for about 3 years, but there were certain movies with a lot of extra bass output that would tax the subwoofer.

500 had for a few months now. Sounds great, has plenty of headroom for me, so far, no noticeable problems.

An ep 350 would be more than enough for that room. It has no trouble filling my main space of 20' by 20' with plenty of headroom.

Back at V2 I pegged the EP175 as a much better alternative than HTIB subs, but only HT worthy if you wanted something really small.

Pay attention to that -10 db number. With decent room gain, you should get almost flat response down to that point. Past that, it will drop off quickly.

So, for the EP350 the -10db point is 22 Hz. In my concrete bunker I get about as much room gain as you can and my EP350 is flat to 20Hz.

The 175 will get you down to around 24 Hz. flat depending on room gain. When I listened to the V2 at Axiom it was not quite enough for movies, where the 350 most definitely was.
