I'm in need a rifle stock. Having trouble finding it.

I have two Parker Hale 1200 deluxe rifles. One was my uncle's 300 win mag, the other my father's 30-06. Both stocks are damaged beyond repair. I want to refurbish them, for sentimental reasons, then they'll go to my son when I kick the bucket. I have a local gunsmith looking into options, but he's not having much luck.

Looks like a Weatherby stock and a Mauser bolt...

Try Boyd's or Bell and Carlson

If I were to restock any of my rifles, I'd go synthetic. Even with the custom bedding I did, the wood changing shape with the weather and humidity is the biggest contributor to lost accuracy and POI.

The 300 is pretty bad (not in the pic). It was damaged when someone left it too close to a wood stove. The other one has some pretty deep gouges in it, you just can't see them in the pic.

If I were to actually use these rifles, then I would just go synthetic/composite. I have no intention of using either though. I have several other rifles I use for hunting. These rifles I am keeping for sentimental reason only. They remind me of my youth, tromping around the mountains with my father and my uncle.

Parker Hale in an English manufacture. They went under quite some time ago. They use Mauser actions, and were known for great accuracy.

I'd be tempted to find some that match. It'll take some time but, IMO, would be worth the wait and the expense.

No hurry at all.... They ain't going anywhere. I just keep forgetting to research, and thought of it yesterday for some reason or other.. Probably cause I bought my son a pistol for Christmas (Kimber Eclipse Custom II, 10MM). First time I've ever seen him speechless.

Hopefully it won't need much tuning - My Dad's Kimber has been nothing but trouble with lots of stovepipes and miss feeds. Buggers to take apart, too.

Oh great. Everyone I spoke to loves the damn things. I'm a Beretta shooter. No real 1911 experience.

They're beautiful guns. Every owner I've talked to said they've sent it back to the factory for a bit of "tuning" to get them to function flawlessly, but once that was done, they were good to go. I'm a Sig guy myself.

I went with Kimber to get the 10mm more than any other reason... The Colt Delta Elite was the second choice. I friggin hate Glock. I like the P226. I've been looking at the 357 for a while now.
