Well it worked out pretty good. 3 rows 8 seats. Although 4 seats in the front are kids seats and are probably going in the games room. Still, nice line of site for 4 adults, just don't stand up on the stands holding the seat...I need a sturdy 10" high stair.

CGC R2315. Pretty basic acoustic tile. Nice weight and thickness to them. And they're fire rated.

I did a bad thing.....but it seems to be working. It nagged me for a few days and I did it.
The addition of the 20" high shelves allowed me to place 2 subs below the rear seat but I didn't run them from the sub out. I've used my QS8' s as side surrounds set as large speakers and using the high pass filter in the first sub while daisy chained. It took a fair bit of fine knob control/adjustment over the last few nights but it's pretty nice.
With the front two subs volume set lower and these two, also set lower, I have less boom and more tactile feel in my seats. Less noise, more smile/immersion.
I need to rerun YPAO for the other positions and work with it a bit more tomorrow but I have to say it was worth the effort.
4 adult seats in 2 rows in a narrow room, no obstructions from the front row with people seated.
Next...

This may have been covered before, but what subs are you running? If I had 4 subs going properly in my old room my teeth would've fallen out. Pretty cool idea to send surround info to subs right under you.
Not that your buying... but multiple sealed dude. Zero boom. All tactile. Super cool!

I know that the question is out there for brwsaw, but I've got 2 large ported subs up front behind my screen. They don't come across as "boomy" at all, but even so, I plan to some day add a 3rd sub, to the back of the room. That one will most likely be sealed if possible to add just the "punch" factor. I also have Bass Shakers in each seat (with their own filters so that they only "play" below 50Hz so that they aren't vibrating with all of the stuff between the normal 80Hz sub/LFE and 50Hz) that add to the tactile feel.
Can you ever have too many subs? LOL

Oh yeah, for sure you can have exceptional performance from dual porteds. There is just something "ninja like" about sealed subs.
I have done it both ways. Porteds go louder for sure. But man, to have that bass crack you in the chest, then completely dissappear, is really something else. IMO sealed units give the impression of a more dynamic experience -because there is no port lag or drone. Some call the experience "room lock" or sitting in the "poweralley". To get a similar tactile response from porteds you have to crank it loud. I think this may be the "noise" factor byproduct brwsaw is referring to. It gets to the blaring point I guess.
Here is a point to take it home. I would sooner not have ATMOS than go back to a ported setup.

4 subs, all different. I can't here the hiss from the 1 from below the shelf so I left it connected.
I am interested in the new EP400 combo units to replace all of them.
