We moved the seats around. Again. The lazy boys ended up up top with the love seat in/as the first row.
It has potential. A lot.
Turns out the front row is perfect distance for my 2 channel listening and the rear for my gaming/viewing.
I havent listened to surround yet. In going back to the basics I turned off (had to disconnect) the surrounds and set up the front 3 for the new positions (AVR only) and listened. A little fine tuning in the AVR and 1 hours viewing (and gaming) later I can't wait to finish it up.
I still have to bolt the 20" high risers together, to the seats, to re run my rear subs from the LFE out and reinstall the side surround connections on the back of the AVR.

Its hard to tell from the pics, but does your screen have a frame? I'm trying to figure out if its just hanging from a piece of rod or timber and weighted at the bottom.

Also, are their stairs or a step stool at one side of the riser? Its impressive you had 3 rows at one point. You have done quite a lot for a modest budget I would guess. Cool.

2x4 frame,3 pieces. Box plus 2 triangular uprights/supports. There's a 2x4 on the wall that the supports slide under so it can't fall forward. This picture doesn't show the triangle support or the 2x4 on the base of the wall but should help.

I almost stayed inside the last budget...Considering the idea, I figure I've likely chewed through $20,000 for the room and everything in it. This over 4 years.
Bear in mind the PJ (PT-AE8000), PS4 and the new risers/shelves were free.
This room was started and completed last year (2014).

Thinking about the money I would have saved doing it all myself...
Ah well, it was nice to come home and not have to work on the room.

I have to say, don't compromise seat locations. I fought the current layout but now that it's done the seats are exactly where specified. Interestingly, every time I do this I am able to turn the overall volume down while hearing an overall improvement in immersion.

I need to get the image/focus back to where it was and mask the screen. This is my new goal for May. Complete the screen mitred/beveled framed/masking....I've seen what I want, now to put it all together (code for make more money so it can be done right, by someone else).

We were hoping for a bigger room sooner but we refused the offer to be moved and am now unemployed. The next few months should be interesting.
