ep-175 sub

Since the ep-175 doesn't have a signal sensing on/off I'm plugging it into a separate power strip and using the switch on the power strip as an on/off. It would be hard to get to the back of the ep-175 everytime I turned my system on/off.

Is my solution doing any harm?

Thanks,

You would not be doing any harm to the speaker, but the EP 175 does have an auto-off feature. If you let it stand for several minutes after you turn off the power you will notice the LED on the back has indeed gone off and the unit has shut down. If you put your ear to the unit you will still notice a slight hum from the transformer.

Thanks for the accurate return comment. I would like to add that if you power down your receiver and the sub does not shut down in maximum 50 minutes then you probably have a faulty patch cord, which is operating like an antenna.
