I bought a set of on wall M22 version 3 from the refurb section back in November. Since then others have popped up. I've noticed some odd things. I have other v3 speakers in the house and my M22's look and more importantly sound so much different...and worse.

Note the tweeters, the odd or maybe just older axiom logo, and well the dust caps of course but that could have been special order. Top picture is my set. What you can't see in the pics is even the vinyl on my M22's doesn't feel and look quite the same as the vinyl on my other V3/V4's speakers.

Another V3 set from the refurb area. Bookshelves Please note that these are real wood, but notice the tweeter, logo, etc.

Another on wall set I almost bought but was afraid they'd sound like my first set and skipped them.

From being on the boards as long as I have, I've seen the changes and conversations from v2 to now and Axiom has consistently made incremental changes to the speakers rather than full step changes from version to version. When the v3's were about to come out, it was commented that some of the final v2's were already getting the v3 woofers, but with black dust caps. The same thing happened when the v4's were coming out: the later v3's had the new v4 tweeter, but the v3 crossover - or something along those lines.

So while you may see differences between between speakers of the same version rest assured that you are still getting a high quality product that is a bargain for the sound quality you are getting.

Well I'm really kicking myself in the butt for not getting those real maple on-walls when they were on sale. Woman is wanting me to add speakers to the bar. I can't do bookshelves all the way around, no room, and with a TV on one side the m22 on walls only make sense.

I'm thinking M22's, and M2 or M3 on walls + sub. The room already has Bookshelf M3's in maple so I need to wait for B stock or refurb to get real wood to match since we can not get maple anymore, otherwise very $$$. Ideally I want all knotty pine ones...since the room is all knotty pine...anyone at the factory listening? lol
