Yup, It was 10 years ago this month I drove to Dwight, Ontario and picked up my M80's, Ep500, QS8's, and VP150 (All V2). Upgraded the VP150 for a VP180 in 2010 (an M80 on it's side, I had to have it). This the longest I have ever owned a set of speakers, not including my original Axiom AX2's bought in 1986 (which are still in the immediate family).

They all still sound as good as they did 10 years ago. I am sure the V4's are better, but I have no urges to upgrade any time soon (OK, maybe just a little). Right now it wouldn't surprise me if I had them for another 10 years. They are a joy to listen to!

Hey Paul. We both bought at around the same time.

I feel the same. I have no urge to replace my M80s or the rest of my system. They still sound great to me and to the people that have the opportunity to enjoy my system.

There is something to be said about the human element. If you are happy with what you have and don't spend time looking for something better or different to change, then you will stay happy with what you have.

There is something to say with comfort of the familiar

Satisfaction is wonderful once one achieves it.

Thankfully I've pretty well found my ideal systems with Axiom throughout my house. After the AxiomAir arrives, I think that I'm pretty well done with audio purchases for a while; however, one never knows if or when a new gizmo will tempt my willpower, ha!

I'm trying to remember if we bought in '02 or '04.
If it was '04, then it took me two years of researching before settling on a decision of what to buy for brand and model.

That sounds about right, but after checking my first posts, i became a forum member in 2002 which means i had already completed the research phase and bought, then joined as a forum member.
Hence, 13 years since owning Axioms here.

When I was younger (before marriage, kids and a mortgage), I was an "early adopter".

I bought by first CD Player in 1986 for $800 (then realized quickly I couldn't afford the CD's) That was a lot of cash in those days.

Bought my first DVD player in 1998 for 1K. Now you can buy a CD/DVD/Blu-ray player for under $100.

I bought a 32" tube TV in 1992 for $1200, now you can get a 60" flatscreen for under $800.

I still love the new stuff, but am in no rush to blow huge amounts of cash anymore. I know I am starting to sound like my dad and I am OK with that.

Thank you Axiom for putting out such a terrific affordable products to begin with, it's probably saved me a bunch over the years.

Sounds exactly like my experience throughout the years.

I bought the first 'slimline' Sony BetaMax VCR in the early 1980s for $1600 - oh, the pain...

That was a boat load of cash back then. But you could record TV programs (assuming you didn't need a PhD in engineering to figure out how to program those things) and I bet that was pretty cool back then.

My uncle bought one of the first VHS units back in 1978. It was a top loading unit, was about the size of a small freezer and weighed about 800 lbs. Cost - $2500.

My dad thought he was nuts.

I used to faithfully record Johnny Carson's 'The Tonight Show' until the novelty wore off.

Then came video stores that charged each customer a $50 deposit in case the cassette was not returned. All the while VHS movie titles were steadily increasing & Beta dwindled, sniff...

BT,DT! And they didn't have exactly robust life-spans, either. Before its fourth year, it became what we called "the anchor clock." I'll bet we used it as a clock for another 3 or 4 years. Then we welded a galvy chain to it and sold it to a boater.
