I could be wrong, but I would think a product geared for HT that goes an octave lower (with a digital high-pass cutoff) would sell pretty well for HT use. Too bad I can't "tag" Ian or Andrew here! smile

Serenity:

Actually my oddly shaped room is only 2450 cu ft that is thankfully free from bass anomalies. I play most movies at -15 to -10 Db (plenty loud enough) so this gives me lots of headroom.

It may be overkill, but I like it, ha!

I do. Well, technically they are Bass Shakers (different brand LOL). They are really helping me in delaying anything else subwoofer wise and I really do find them as a quick fix.

Who knew that two large, 4cuft subs later and I would just want more???

If I added a sealed, I was thinking something like a sealed 4cuft box and a massive 18" sub as it would fit perfectly under my equipment rack (I would have to secure things down a bit though. grin

Right now I would get better bang out of Atmos, but I always wondered about adding a sealed sub to the mix and thought that I would ask.

No freaking doubt! laugh It seems like it would be a what'dya wanna hear system. "Missile launches at reference?...... No problem. " grin "Here's your diaper."

I just dont have the space on my front wall for anything that big with all the other stuff going on. Plus the whole I just finished my basement cashflow thing. crazy

Nick, I dont know if you have (but probably) tried the whole measurement and manual spl thing, or you just use audyssey, but I've found its really hard to add more bass and still have good bass.

What I mean I guess is at some point the bass acts as a mask for the finer detail in (mainly music) content and starts to smear over everything. I also found that measurements became much smoother across the board when I reduced the subs output by just a few db. This is no doubt due to room decay stuff at bass frequencies, but you can see how more bass might be a detriment in some ways I guess.

We talked about it a while ago, but I can totally see you going to a sealed front wall config and never looking back. It's pretty nice. I said it before, I'd sooner not have atmos than go back to ported.

There should be a show called "sub swap" where guys can live with eachothers subs for a week instead of "wife swap." Craig can host! Lol.

I see your point, especially since in my case the 3rd sub would end up being disproportionately placed compared to the others. It would end up significantly closer to the listening spot than the other two subs. and thus muddy things. My mind was stuck on the "room mode" issue where you can actually even out the peaks and the nulls in a room by adding more subs, but that is taking them into more of an "even distribution around the room" situation, which this wouldn't be.

I agree with you last paragraph too... Craig, how long until you have something set up? LOL
