OK just curious of the differences between these two in my room.
My room is really only going to be say 15' x 21' x 8'.
Other than playing loud what great advantage would I have spending more.
I know the M80 go 9hz lower but on the specs. they both play 40hz at the same spl.
I prefer no sub for music, and in movies well that becomes a non issue below 80hz where my subs would take care of that.
s my biggest concern is my M80 v3 I wish has just a bit more umph thumppppp . Without going to the M100 where I am told to go. ( my room is never going to be big enough to put speakers 3 ft out from the wall.

Currently I was thinking of M80v4 HP and a VP180v4. I listen to music in 2.0 so the HP180 is pointless, because the sub will be active .
BUt, I am thinking I don't listen to the speakers really loud so, why do I need M80 HP ?

I guess if I really need the extra umpph then just get use to subs and get the M60's.

They other thing is if using a sub, what would the sound benefit be in even upgrading from my M80V3
if the only upgrade is a tweeter with bigger heat sinks, well I don't run them loud enough to even need this heatsink

I think you've answered your own question sort of.
The diff. would be minimal especially if you don't go to loud.
Plus the M80 has quite decent low frequencies already.
Of course the H.P. version goes deeper, but you'd probably still want the subs to go lower any ways.
Cheers.

You might want to find out what it takes to drive the HP. As I understand it, the HP has more windings which means more inductance and hence more reactive power will be required to drive it.

Mine hasn't changed since 2004. It has to be something on your end.
