Pixar? What happened over there? ( * I think I know)This movie had some beautiful scenery but no story and weak characters. I was mostly bored out of my mind. I thought that it might be aimed at very little ones, but if that is the case, some of the characters were mismatched to that age level, and I would not have had a scene where my two heroes are tripping on something they ate.
Dear John Lasseter, remember The Iron Giant? That has characters and a story. You should be embarrassed to have your name on this one.
There are some scenes that tug on the heart strings.....it is Disney after all. But most of it was drivel.
I can't really comment about sound or video because I watched on iTunes and not blu ray. But it looked pretty good.
* Here is what I think happened to Pixar: Joe Ranft died and apparently he is irreplaceable when it comes to telling a story.

Yeah... not much there. Just saw it the other night at my kids' school movie night. Now, I missed half of the dialog because when you have a room full of kids... but even so, I could tell I didn't really miss much.
I was so happy to see (not really...) that they went with the standard plot device of "kill the parent to trigger growth."
Seriously, why do all children's movies feature dead parents? What the heck, Disney?
I am the Doctor, and THIS... is my SPOON!
