Hello everyone,this question is for the 2 channel music lovers.I,m looking for opinions on integrated amps that have treble and bass controls specifically an amp that offers "Solid Bass". I read that about a Marantz amp review somewhere and decided that,s what i need since the bass control on my Yamaha makes very little difference when i use it.I love how a great recorded CD sounds on my Yamaha,But I have many older Cd,s that don,t sound so great, less full,flat, no bass.I cannot audition an amp with my speakers before buying it and i was wondering if anyone can suggest an Amp between $500 and $700 that has decent bass control that actually adds a little Bass?I have been looking at Nad, Marantz,denon,and others but i need advice from owners,and No i,m not adding a center channel or a sub,just a little more bass from my amp is all i need.I love my Axioms!Thanks in advance to any advice.

Something you might want to consider is shopping around for a graphic equalizer you can add into the tape loop if you have one. Maybe check canuckaudiomart and see what you can find. Many CD's are poorly recorded and lack the bass we love so much .

What speakers are you using?

The bass control on any amp that's functioning properly would be providing a significant bass boost. Unless your speakers are not capable of reproducing those frequencies.

There is also the possibility that there is another setting that is "off", such as routing bass to a non-existant sub.

Hi again,thanks for the reply,sorry i did not give enough info on my set up so here it is.Yamaha R-302,Yamaha CD S-300,Axiom m 60,s,Monitor Audio Bronze BX2,s.Yesterday i listened to Pink Floyd,s Endless River, David Gilmore,s On An Island,and they sounded fantastic on my M 60,s I absolutely love those speakers,but the older CD,s ( and i have many of those) sounded flat.When listening on my Monitor Audio,s i have the same issue,Great speaker but i was using the bass control to add a little Umph to old CD,s and what i found was that the Yamaha bass control really did not add much,so it,s either not working properly or it,s as i read that Yamaha amps sound bright,i really don,t know. As for positioning, the M60,s are where every other speaker i have owned was positioned and i cannot change it due to my room lay out and my wife not wanting me to re arrange all the furniture.What i was hoping for was some one who uses their tone control on their amps to let me know if that particular brand amp has good bass or not,i may not use it often but i want that option.As for an equalizer..that may be an option also.The Yamaha amp i have is their budget model and i will be getting a new amp between now and December hence the original question about a good amp for the M 60,s.I don,t want to drown over the mids and highs of the speaker,just a little more base when i want it,hope i,m making sense here,lol and thanks again for the input. p.s. on my yammy i use the loudness sometimes on lower volumes,but it creates static when i use it,it,s an older model i believe.

Just my 2 cents worth but I am currently running a set of M3's and a set of M60's with a EP175 sub using an Onkyo TX-8020 receiver. It's got 50 watts of pure analog power that kicks ass and you can get it for less than $200. You do not have have to spend a lot for good stereo sound. Onkyo makes a higher power version of it but I found 50 watts of pure power to be plenty for both sets of speakers.
