Just received unit - 3 issues so far

Just received the unit today and so far very happy. NFS mounting works great and the sound quality is excellent.

3 problems though so far:

1. In the WebUI, on the playback screen, selecting the mute button (on the left of the volume slider) caused very loud popping noises making it unusable and a little scary. Will have to use pause for now.

2. Adding web radio stations. The "+Add web radio" select does not always appear on chrome (works fine on Firefox). When I do enter anything into the popup and select "Add", a red error dialog appears which says: "Search error".

3. Tried using multiple Android UPNP players and I can use my media source and play locally on the phone, but the AxiomAir never appears in the list of renderers. Not sure what else to do to debug this one.

Can you tell me if any of these are known issues?

Another one. So, I disconnect my wireless - as this seems to be the only way to force the unit back into hotspot mode. I download the app on my Android phone, connect to the hotspot and the app says "Searching", then the screen goes white. I've left it for 5 minutes now and nothing. I've rebooted my phone and even re-installed the app.

Any ideas?

Fixed the second problem, by rebooting the unit itself while my wireless was completely off. Now the app connects.

Are you able to see the AxiomAir as an available renderer when connected to the hot-spot?

Hi Andrew, thanks for the reply. No, in Hotspot mode it also does not show in the list of renderers, but I'm less concerned about that.

More importantly, I intended to use the device close to home where it is connected to my NFS share. However, if I can only get the app to connect while it's in HotSpot mode, then how do I control the unit without lugging my laptop around? I've left the app on the "searching" screen for ages and no change. Is this expected to work or is it something on the bug list? Being able to control the unit with the Android app, while connected to my local wifi is essential.

I'm a computer engineer by trade and code C++ and Java on Linux as well as being a system administrator. If there is something I can help with, I would love to help.

fyi....tried the webui on my mobile and it works surprisingly well. Can use that in lieu of the app, but would still like someone to comment on why the app won't connect when on local network.

Hi MF,

Have you tried closing the App and reopening it? Tablets tend to just leave everything running in the background which stops the App from being able to refresh.

Hi Ian,

no luck. Rebooted phone, tried re-installing and also installed on my wife's Nexus 6. Same result in all cases, app does not get past "searching..." screen. If there are any diagnostics I can provide, let me know.

WebUI is working fine though and the speaker itself sounds fantastic.
