When i click on room and groups - edit groups I'm brought to an empty Web page that simply says multi room configuration. Nothing else besides a home button. How exactly does one setup Multiroom on this?

Spent a couple hours at this again tonight....as a sys admin, and net admin, the things I see with these Air's confuse the @#$@#$ out of me...random glitches that make no sense, no pattern.

So for kicks I did factory reset. Which put me back on this firmware:
System version: 1.107 Released: Tue Aug 9 02:00:42 CEST 2016

And sure enough the Android app worked again. I used the app and hotspot mode to put it on my wireless network with static ip.
So then I did the same with the other Air, it too now on 1.107. Android app worked for it. Put it on my wireless with static IP.

Now the Android app seems confused due to seeing two and crashes. We really need a setting in the app to put in the ip address manually. This auto search is not reliable. At this point App is not working at all. Two Android phones I tried.

Using internet browser in Windows from this point on.

Now, I can see both the Air's in the Multi room section, but can not do anything with them. It'll show a song playing on one if I choose USB. Neither one will play web radio now when I click on ANYTHING web radio related in any browser on Windows, MAC, or phone, nothing happens on either unit. I mean nothing, click on web radio and it does not go to next page...either unit. Two browsers open, one to each ip address, and nothing works.

BUT, now keep in mind I have static ip for both wired and wireless on BOTH units. If I plug them in, I can get radio. Back to wireless...no radio. Same thing with the check for update, plugged in I get a notification that there is an update available v1.293 and one of the fixes is wifi with more then 13 characters, fixed volume on multiroom, improved browsing.....and guess what? my wifi only has 8. So that's got nothing to do with it.

I install the firmware, reboot, and it says I now have
System version: 1.271 Released: Fri Nov 25 02:39:52 CEST 2016

That's not the same number it said it was downloading?

So at this point I have one air on the Aug firmware, the other on the November firmware. They do show up in multi-room on each others gui, but I can't do anything with them.

So, now I'll update the 2nd unit..... but I have to hard wire it? Never had to before?!?!? just odd.

So, update, reboot,no radio still....ARGH. And no multi-room working on either unit at all...and android app still searching.

So, back to factory reset again. Add back to network using app, enter static ip's again just like I did several times already....reboot again, but wired and wireless work, radio works, usb works, multi-room not showing other system again....android app still searching. Back to where I started, but at least both units play music.

So, confused as can be, here's what I can say for certain. The Android App doesn't work on my Samsung s6 edge, or note, with the 1.271 firmware at all. It does work using both phones on 1.107, flawless. I have no idea why web radio stopped working on 1.107, ip's, gateways, all triple checked. The second I got these units, I immediately updated to latest firmware. I do this with any electronics I buy. So honestly until tonight I never spent a lot of time on firmware 1.107....and to be honest, browsing music on 1.107 is a pita.

Lots of quirks....looking forward to new firmware. I'm leaving firmware 1.271 on there as at least it is working. I'll forget the app for now, use a web browser, airplay works great with itunes/iphones, but multiroom is broken.

Side note, the woman likes it, it looks great in the kitchen, everyone that comes over is impressed. I think for most ears it sounds great but an eq/or tone controls is needed to brings its full potential out. It's a good unit, but needs mature firmware.

Are there instructions on what you can do via Multiroom. Airply using itunes is pretty straightforward but I was under the impression there was more the air could do.

Is airplay via iTunes the only way to get Multiple Air's to play throughout the house in sync?

Is there a way to get multiple Air's to play web radio or share songs on usb/or NAS and play in sync?

Wasn't there going to be an option to have the ability to put two Air's in one room, and designate one as left, and one as right effectively giving one one large wireless stereo? or did that get dropped?

At the bottom of the playback page you should see all the AxiomAirs on your network. You can click on the one you want to control. There is also a button labeled Edit Groups where you can drag one on top of the other to form a group.

You got to be kidding me! How did I miss that? Drag and drop them onto each other. Never seen that mentioned anywhere. I feel silly. Maybe because I'm doing it mostly on a phone. Just tried it very quietly... everyone is in bed and it seems to work fine. Shared usb too. Great.

Play more with it tomorrow night. With this chime thing everytime I boot one I can't turn these units on at night even with the setting turned off. It seems for weeks now I only get about an hour late at night to myself with work being so busy.

So I had a snow day today! Yeah! And 2 hours of snow clearing....booo. Anyways I finally had an empty house to play with these Air's. They sync audio quite well. I have Axiom speakers in pretty much every room, with Denon X Series receivers. The Denon can do multiroom as well with an all stereo option, but if your ears are good, you'll hear a slight Delay between zones.

The AxiomAir's even in the same room, even over WIRELESS are perfectly in sync. Obviously with two in the same room the whole stereo effect is sorta out of whack, which is expected but if I can't detect them out of sync in the same room, that's awesome.

Sadly, the interface for controlling the volume once they are paired is wonky. You have to control the volume from a new area and the woman is all confused. Also sometimes the volume sliders do not move on phone, and turning them up actually turns the speaker down so it becomes a trial of patience. Plus, I don't see any way to save the zone settings, so you'll need to pair them manually each time you turn them on???...again, woman confused. She asking why have two of these with Speakers throughout the house.....and little does she know, it was an attempt to make her life easier. My Kitchen was a no brainer for the Air - no way to get wires to it.

One last thing. My Android App seems ok "most times" when only one Axiom Air is on. But when two are on....crash on starting the App. Each unit has it's own name and ip. Tested over and over, with both Air's on...crash every single time.

Add that to bug list I guess.
