I'd be very curious to hear Ian's and Andrew's take on the new HomePod from the perspective of music fidelity. Apple promises fascinating active technology to tune the sound, supposedly for accuracy and transparency. But it's a small form factor, which I'd guess must seriously limit bass extension. And I wonder if they really can do better than existing active equalization technologies, which Axiom has long discouraged.
Apple seems to be suggesting that they can use technology to achieve high fidelity at relatively low cost and physical size, in contrast to traditional approaches with high cost and big speakers. When the HomePod ships I hope Axiom will test it thoroughly o see how successful they've been so far.
Thanks, Bill

I work at Apple (since Feb. 2016) under the Siri division. Since HomePod and Siri will be tightly integrated, I may have early access to HomePod. I'll be sure to post my own impressions here once I've had a chance to put it through its paces and once I doesn't break any confidentiality requirements .
