I've just received a pair of ostensible B-stock M3 v4 on-walls and a refurb VP100.

All three brackets look like this:

The instruction booklet shows a bracket with retaining clips -- which I don't have. The shape of the bracket is different too.

It also doesn't show the rubber bumpers that mine were packaged with, I presume I would place them on the lower back to hold the speaker square to the wall.

My brackets look scraped a bit, and have fingerprints on the contacts. Did I get old-style used brackets with my ostensible v4 speakers? Or did I maybe not get v4's at all?

Would like to be comfortable with this before I mount them. Thanks for any info.

Also, the instructions speak of a hole placement template that I did not receive.

I called in and got the skinny. It seems that the retaining clips were removed in favor of a deeper flange, and that the installation pamphlet is badly in need of an update. The contacts are tested at the factory and deliberately left raw for better contact.
