So, I’m thinking that I may want an integrated amp for my Office. The speakers that I’ll be using will be a pair of B&M CM1’s that I’ve had for some time now.

I’m looking for an integrated amp that I can stream from spotify as well as possibly connect a CD player and or a dish receiver.

The linn Majik DSM seems like the product that has everything that I’m looking for.. Except for the price tag.. There is one on consignment for 2k$ from one of the local hifi stores that is a Linn dealer...

A Marantz would also be an option. The NR1608 or 1607 would also work. I’ve got a 1604 that I like. I’ve also got an 8801 in the media room and am happy with the way the Marantz products.. But, to a certain extent I’d like something different..

I wanted to see what products others might know about.. I’d say the 2k$ that the linn is at would be the upper end of what I’m willing to spend.

I think i may call about the Linn tomorrow.

Alex, for an office setup, among the features that I'd want to have would be AM/FM reception, so I'd consider a receiver rather than an integrated amplifier. Nevertheless, considering the Linn unit, it appears to be so grossly overpriced, even at that lower number you mention, that it's not worthy of serious consideration.

Either the Marantz 1607 or 1608 should meet your needs, but if the "slim" height isn't a critical factor, the slightly higher Denon 1300 factory refurb available from A4L would seem to be more cost-effective. Note the slightly higher power and higher grade of Audyssey.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

I completely agree the Linn price is pretty hard to justify even at the consignment price...

I may get one a 1608 or 1607 and run one of those with one of my 2 channel amps that i'm not currently using.. That would give me the updated tech with as much power as i'd ever really want. .

I was previously using a 1604 with a marantz amp in my old office.. That setup worked well.

I was thinking about using the 1604 in the family room since we have network connections where our av drops are (new house).
