I am a Hobbiest cabinet maker and I am wondering something. I just made my second purchase from Axiom 1st was M60TI VP150 and QS8 already had a sub Klipsch RW10 2nd purchase M3TI's, The question is if everything is the same, drivers and crossover in M40TI and I am not pleased with the lows in the M3TI can I build enclosures with specs of M40TI and get the same results? I was thinking solid 3/4" Oak to match my entertainment center or is solid wood a bad choice?

We had a "discussion" in which the acoustic properties of natural wood were discussed a little while back. I'm not going to suggest you read it because it wasn't the most productive thing ever but I think the general feeling is that solid wood is not a good choice unless a particular piece is specifically sought out and chosen for it's unique character. Any given piece of natural wood will have different acoustic characteristics, even another piece even from the same tree. This is why "real wood" speakers are more often a wood veneer over MDF.

As for building custom cabinets to house the M3 components, I really don't know if the only difference between the M3 and M40 is the encosure. Someone here is likely to know though.
