Outdoor in-ceiling speakers

I understand they are not made for this purpose but would the M3 in-ceiling speakers hold up outdoors. I have an outdoor space that is prewired for ceiling speakers and would be very difficult to reroute. I have had M3 outdoor speakers in the past and loved them but aren't an option here.

This is just one guy's guess, but it seems to me that as long as you ran the wiring through the ceiling and had a good seal between the speaker flange and the ceiling you should be OK.
I'm assuming that the existing structure would keep rain/snow/etc.. off the speakers.

The in-ceiling speakers are waterproof so no problem having them outside.
