I am wondering if anyone has created a HT L/C/R using the LFR series speakers. If so, how do you have it hooked up considering the DPS units. Also would using room correction software cause "problems" with such a setup

I don't know of anyone participating on the boards who has the LFR180 yet. I've toyed with the idea of getting one, but I have other upgrades I'd do well before. I am using the LFR1100s as my mains, and they're doing great. My center is currently a VP180.

As for how you hook the LFR speakers up, you simply run cables from the preamp outputs on your receiver to the corresponding inputs on the DSP. The DSP processes the signal and outputs separate front and rear signals to your outboard amps. You need two channels of amplification per LFR speaker. There IS an option to get amplifier and DSP housed in one unit, but I think you're limited to an ADA1000 if you go that route. I went all-out with an ADA1500.

Charles, how do the LFRs sound with vs. without room correction software?

I have to admit I haven't really done a lot of comparison. When I calibrate, I usually just do Audyssey to let it set the distances, but then I turn the room correction off after I've gone through it. Out of respect for Ian and Andrew not being fans. smile Based on the little bit I've heard right after running the calibration on multiple occasions, I didn't feel like I was losing anything at all after turning it off.

Also, Audyssey invariably wants me to check the polarity on either my LFRs or my QS8s, though it's not always consistent on which ones.
