They are quite heavy, mostly because of the HP woofer. Mine feel solid now that they're in the wall, and my drywall is attached to resilient channeling, so not even as solid as regular sheetrock directly on stud.

Great to hear RLS and bman874! I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Waiting on a few final numbers as I am at the finishing stage of my basement. One question I have asked Axiom (just this morning) is what is the minimum distance between the LCR's? I am a little concerned that mine may be too close behind a 100" screen. I did a mock-up over the weekend and they would be roughly 26" apart and 5ft 2 in between L/R.

I had my M5s 6 feet apart when I was playing with them. I sat anywhere from 4 to 8 feet away on the diagonal and they sounded great. 6 feet away was, for me, the sweet spot that gave me the most realistic soundstage. Some may prefer the more intimate closer distance that makes them feel like they are part of the action. Others may like the farther distance that diffuses some of the imaging and makes it sound like a concert hall.

Thanks Mojo. I think I will re-work one of my studs now before the taping and mudding is done next week. That way I can test moving the speakers around and place appropriately.

Higgins, I see you live in Ontario. Maybe if you decide to pick up your M5s from Axiom, you can ask for the M5 designers to be lined up for foot washes and massages.

I want a photo of the design team, the family of curves and the Bode plots of the cross-over to complete the M5 shrine in my living room.
