Just a gorgeous evening and night last night. Chilled until 3 am watching movies and concerts with my bud on the ADA-1000 and M5s via a Chromecast video. Hutterite swine, quail and a duck is going on the barbie today as I bake my honky skin in the sweltering sun and saturate my ears-brain with more Axiom.

Thanks guys. The yard looked a lot neater but I pulled a lot of shrubbery out. I'm also letting what's left grow a little wild for a more natural appearance. A lot of folks comb and groom their yards but when was the last time you saw groomed wilderness? Lol!

Back to audio. The difference in bass is stark out here in the yard. The bass is tight and of the correct bloom. I can't say it's quite like that even in my main room with the 800v4 and Audyssey XT32.

Besides the bass, all the rest sounds in proper proportion. As I've said before, the M5s were a bit hot in the lows and highs in my living room due to room size and reflectivity (and no EQ in that room). They are real good in my basement though even without EQ. Out here, they are perfect in every way.

Soundstage is a big problem though and imaging is limited to centre, left and right. If I give it juice, and with the right songs, I get reflection from the fences and that opens up the soundstage nicely. Of course in the basement the soundstage and imaging are like holography.

I absolutely love the sound from the M5s. I was playing The Weight by Chris Barber and a neighbor two doors down behind me came over to check things out. She said she thought I had a live band. It really is spectacular.

Craig, they shut me down, man. Two of my neighbors came over an hour ago and told me to "Shut that shit off!".

Ok, fair enough, I was spinning the new Madonna tune at that time and I explained it's not the typical stuff I listen to but my BFF and FWB wanted to dance so I complied. Ok, I admit, I had the ADA-1000 cranked to the limit but as I explained to the neighbors, I am allowed 85dB SPL for an hour or less and Madonna wasn't screeching that long. It says so in them there city by-laws.

Now it don't say in the rules whether it's dBC or dBA or peak or average or how to calculate the average if it is one and I explained all this to them but they thought I was jabbering German. So I told them all about SPL starting from microbars of pressure and working to logarithmic conversion but they thought I was on crack! So I pulled out my SPL meter (which I had handy 'cause I was doing science earlier while nursing a Guiness) to demonstrate and they told me to holster it 'cause they figured it was an armament.

My BFF jumped in and made the case they was envious of my system (I mean who wouldn't be?). Anyway, we could see they were both a fry short of a Happy Meal so I decided to shut it down and avoid a messy confrontation. Now we're enjoying a crackling fire while sipping lemon balm and honey tea.

The vittles was awesome by the way. After rotisserieing the duck, I stuffed it along with roasted figs into the quail and then wrapped it with swine strips. Yum yum, Mr. Chase.
