Hi All,
I am using LFR60hps for my left and right powered with an ADA1000 amp. I have a vp160hp and a EP800 sub. I have 6 surrounds, all M5s. The vp160 and the M5s are all powered with a Denon avr x6500h receiver. Would it make sense to purchase a 7 channel ADA1000 instead of using my Denon receiver amps?
Thanks much for any help,
Steve

Steve - I would go with an ADA1000-5 for the center and 4 of the M5's and let the Denon handle 2 of the back M5's ... The Denon will have plenty of power for 2 speakers, and this will leave more available juice for the all important LCR speakers.

Thanks Craig, never thought of your suggestion! BTW, I used your audyssey mike pattern after trying myself a hundred times. Now my system sounds really good.

A little more detail to my question. I am using the m5s for surrounds, front heights, and surround heights (auto 3d). Would it be good to use a 3 channel ada100 for the center and front heights and use the Denon for the surrounds and surround heights?

How far away from your 160HP center are you sitting?

I am sitting 10 and 1/2 feet from the vp160. The 660s are on the same line 11feet apart. Hope this helps!

It is at least as well thought out as my suggestion was.

Thought it might help to say that my surrounds and surround heights are on the side wall parallel with me at 11 feet away each!

Thought it might help to say that my surrounds and surround heights are on the side wall parallel with me at 11 feet away each! Your idea will work very well with the 1000-3. The pair of 1000's will give you the current you need for the 5 speakers requiring the most SPL, and the Denon can handle the rest. In real world listening, you should find a great improvement in a seamless front sound stage, especially on high SPL scenes.
