There's a number of things you can do about the door, but given the hardwood I think your best bet might be a hinge pin that would only allow the door to open 90 degrees and be relatively invisible, cheap, and pretty easy to install.

just take the door off and replace with some hangin beads.. it will be groovy man... just make sure you close the bathroom door when going #2.. looks like a straight shot..
