I think it is time for a new projector. The projector is 24 feet back from the 109" screen. One wall is glass so we only use it at night but the moonlight can still add a bit of light to the room. I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations? Thanks

Ian - We got this one about 15 months ago: https://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-UHZ65.htmAre you also looking at a new screen? Some of the new ones that absorb ambient light are awesome.

I'm still happy with my 720p Sanyo PLV-Z4 but I'm sure you can do better than that

Lol bridgman I still have my old Sanyo 720P Z2 that we use for camping.
For the Porterplex I picked up the Epson 5040UB 4K projector a few years ago and love it. Although not a true 4K projector, it does accept a 4K signal. The pixels are duplicated and raised 1/4 up and 1/4 over and you would swear it is 4K, for the money hard to beat and breathtaking even with a little light in the room.

I just moved to a 4K projector (which meant all my other crap had to be upgraded too). I went with the JVC RS2000. It's pretty impressive and worth a look. I have a 2.40:1 96" wide screen and use a Panamorph Paladin DCR Vertical Compression lense. This one should tie me over until the laser unit comes down in price.

I can't believe no one has yet asked Ian if he's also considering any audio changes to his setup. Any Atmos yet Ian?

What are you using now? Is it currently 24' away from the screen? What screen material are you using?

I recently added the LFR1100 Actives to my system. I am experimenting with no Centre Channel now and it seems to be working really well. The thinking behind this is since the sweet-spot is everywhere with an LFR do you really need a Centre Channel, would it actually be better without one?

I've been experimenting too, turning off the Center but leaving all surrounds. In my room the M80 really doesn't need surrounds but I've adjusted the surrounds down so they don't interfere with the sound stage the fronts provide. It really is something special. 24' is a fair distance, must be a nice PJ. Not sure mine could provide as good an image although a few more feet would be beneficial overall. Still undecided on the Center lol.

So, Ian, am I reading that you are taking the entire speaker lineup to active LFR based and ending centre channel development? LOL
