You said you are feeding the 800 off the DSP. I assume that means you are feeding the 800 off either the left or right channel as there are twin DSP boxes - one for each LFR.

I have twin 500s. I feed each off the left and right DSP boxes. I feed the 800 off the Onk's .1 channel.

Can he feed one DSP into the input on the 800 and the other into the output to get both? Isn't that what people were doing when they had two sub outs on their receivers to get a stronger signal to the sub?

The answer to the question is No.

It's not a matter of a stronger signal. The left channel has its own bass ccontent. The right channel has a different bass content.

If your sub has a left and right input, you bring both the left and right channels into those inputs. The sub takes those two and sums them using an electronic circuit.

The Axiom subs have only one low level (RCA) input. That input was designed to accept the LFE output from a receiver or a single channel from a receiver's pre-out.

The "out" is to daisy-chain the "in" signal to other subs. I am quite sure the "out" is just paralleled to the "in". Whatever goes in, can also go out.

And just to add, if you feed both DSPs into one sub, right into "in" and left into "out" for example, you will set up bucking currents in each DSP output. These bucking currents will oppose the voltages the DSPs are trying to put out.

Thanks for the explanation. I wasn't sure how that all worked.

This is what I do. I explain stuff. All day long. When I don't know how to explain something that I should be able to explain, it eats at me. So I go figure it out. And when people don't get it, I get mad at me because it means I didn't explain well what I was trying to explain. Did I explain it well enough for you?

I only use one of the DSPs output to the one sub per Ian's recommendation. Since I crossover at 40Hz he said there really wont be much of a difference because most music is recorded in mono that low.
