I had a pair of Subarus hooked up to my 3803 in the HT room for awhile. They sounded awful. Thanks for the tip though bigjohn.

hehehe!!!! Thank God someone else has a sense of humor here...after seeing BrenR's post on the "worst groups" thread, I can no longer allow myself to laugh at his jokes.

Hi Aetherhole,
I too am slowly building up my Axiom HT/Music system that will go into my new home in June... If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose the QS4s over the QS8s? What is the size of your room? I have already gotten my M22tis and will be using them as my fronts. I am however still debating on VP100 vs. VP150, and QS4 vs. QS8. I will have a dedicated HT room 19x14x9. Can you share a little of the rationale behind your decision of speakers? Thanks a bunch!

Pklin:

I own the M50's, VP100, and QS4's. My dedicated HT room is 15' 11 1/2"X10' 10 1/2" and this setup provides way more power then what's needed for an HT room of my size. Works out better then perfect. lol

Greetings Pklin,

The reason I chose the QS4s was because when I talked to one of the guys at Axiom on the phone, they said there would probably little difference, the big difference being that it is rated to handle more power. But, how often are most of us actually going to use that power. Being that my room is like 13x24x9 and I am only using about 13-14' of the width of the 24' I find that it is plenty of power. Plus, another reason is because the fact that I had to buy two pair of QS4s meant I had to keep it within budget. I couldn't really justify buying the QS8s for roughly 300 more total, over the QS4s.

Now for the VP150, I decided on that one because I heard it was a wider sound stage and better seemlessness when panning across the front. I also heard that it was clearer than the vp150. Of course all that probably is slight/minimal but I didn't want to say "What if" and have to upgrade.

Regardless, either of the speakers you choose most likely will put you in a very happy state. You really can't go wrong either way you choose.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Regards,
Jon
